Many people are familiar with the uses of this versatile product, but here are some unusual uses to help you.
Frost free windshields
Whenever you are driving in cold weather the windshield of the car tends to get frosted. Don’t worry. Get some rubbing alcohol in some spray bottle and spritz it on your windshield and you are going to have clear vision all the way home.
Frost free windows
In order to prevent frost from building up on the windows at home, you need to make a solution of 4 cups of water and half a cup rubbing alcohol and spray it onto your windows. This is going to work amazingly in keeping the windows free of frost when the temperature drops below zero.
Vinegar is a very good cleaning solution fir sanitizing the countertops, but the acidity in it is very harsh and could cause corrosion of the surface of the granite. Use rubbing alcohol as follows: combine half a cup rubbing alcohol, 1 tablespoon of ammonia, 3 cups of water and a teaspoon of dish soap. Mix everything well and your cleaner is ready.
Remove Labels and stickers
If you want to remove stickers or some types of labels from some jar, wet the sticker or the label with a bit of rubbing alcohol and allow it to soak for around 10 minutes. The alcohol is a dissolvent so the sticker or label are going to peel away easily.
Cell phones and laptops have plenty of bacteria which increase from time to time when the surfaces are not being cleaned. Use a cotton swab or sponge damped with rubbing alcohol and gently wipe the surfaces of your phone, mouse, and keyboard.
Remove Stains from Microfiber sofa
For eliminating the stains from a microfiber sofa, spray a bit of rubbing alcohol over the stained area. Wipe with a clean sponge or cloth and leave it to dry. Unlike water, which could stain the microfiber, rubbing alcohol is not going to penetrate the fabric and it’s going to evaporate quickly.
Remove Carpet Stain
If you want to remove greasy stains, apply rubbing alcohol to some piece of cloth and gently rub the stain. If you want to be safe, first try on an inconspicuous part of the carpet.
Applying rubbing alcohol to your hands after chopping garlic or onions if you want to remove the odor from the hands. It works just as a hand sanitizer.
Sooth the skin
In case you know someone who is not feeling well, rub their body with rubbing alcohol. It will instantly cool and relax the muscles and will bring the blood flow to the surface of the skin.
Patting a little rubbing alcohol on some itchy bug bite is going to help to relieve the itchiness by killing the micro-organisms which are causing the area to itch.
Rubbing alcohol could be used to replace deodorant. If it happens to you to run out of deodorant and happen to be going on a date, don’t worry, place a bit in a spray bottle and tip several drops of your favorite essential oil and spritz under the arms.
Killing Nail fungus
Soaking the hands or feet in a tub filled with water and rubbing alcohol could help get rid of bacterial growth under your nails. This can be done every day until fungus goes away.
Nail polish remover
Rubbing alcohol could be the perfect substitute of nail polish remover.
